Originally a working farm, the Mathis family has transformed this already beautiful property into a one-of-a-kind destination mountain wedding venue nc . Its sweeping views of the Appalachian Mountains, unique indoor and outdoor event space and breathtaking landscapes offer the perfect setting for your event. Whether you’re dreaming of a grand wedding weekend full of celebration, or an intimate ceremony with friends and family, we’ll help you craft memories that last a lifetime.
I will never forget the first wedding that I attended at the venue originally known as Gambill Farms. The breath-taking view of the surrounding mountain ranges and wide-open spaces left me with the same feeling I got from traveling to Colorado or Montana. It was if time stood still. I could breathe more deeply and take a longer exhale. I never dreamed that one day, this special place would become a part of my family’s story.
Our family has deep roots in the Windy Gap/Roaring River community. My husband spent his childhood just a few miles from the venue, riding atvs, hunting and later working for his father. I grew up in “town,” where we both attended high school—the same school that our children attend. Bart learned a strong work ethic at an early age, while I absorbed creativity and developed a love for travel and art from my family. Although we never dated in our teens, our paths crossed a few years later while I was studying Clothing & Textile Design at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
In 2000, we said “I Do,” and the rest is history! Our two beautiful children, Zoe 16 and Brody 14, opened our eyes to a depth of love we never imagined. This focus on family values is what led us to this joint endeavor to work together and help couples plan, design, and create a sacred space to start their life’s journey.
We bring to you our passion for beautiful settings, our knowledge & professional approach to business, and our endless pursuit of a job well done. You can rest assured that when you book your special event with us, no detail will be left undone.
